ABH2018 : Acoustic Black Hole and structured plates for vibration control, Le Mans University (France), 3-4 May, 2018.

We are pleased to announce the workshop "ABH2018 : Acoustic Black Hole and structured plates for vibration control" to be held at Le Mans University (France), 3-4 May, 2018.

Acoustic black holes (ABH) and structured plates are nowadays systems that allow the control of flexural waves, the possibilities of which covering the reduction of vibrations, waveguiding, energy trapping and energy harvesting to cite a few. The interest in such structures is growing exponentially and different scientific communities like those of ABH and structured plates are converging.

In this context the ABH2018 workshop aims at bringing together skills and knowledge of the complementary communities of scientists working on ABH and structured plates. This workshop provides a unique framework for efficient scientific exchanges, helps to avoid duplication of research and channels the work of groups involved in different projects towards this topic.

The workshop will be organized over two days and will include four structured sessions. Informal exchanges between the speakers and the participants will be encouraged during the free time. Live experiments or illustrative videos of experimental set-ups will favor scientific exchanges on real experimental situations. Poster sessions will be organized to encourage participants to present their works. During all the conference, photos and videos will be taken.

March 4  : deadline for abstract submissions.
March 31 : notification of acceptation for abstracts.
March 31 : deadline registrations.
May 3 to 4 : the conference !
